Back From Montreal!

Montreal was fun, but after a long weekend I am home. Lets start with today's NHL action :

Leafs lost a close one tonight, falling 5-4 to the Capitals. Tellqvist got the start in net, and didn't look that great. Sundin, O'Neill, Wellwood, McCabe and Khavanov all had two points for Toronto, while Ovechkin and Muir each had two points for Washington. The Leafs lost their 3rd straight road game. The Leafs also made a trade today, sending Nathan Perrott to Dallas for a conditional pick in 2006.

Currently in the third period, Phoenix leads Chicago 1-0. Boyd Devereaux has the only goal. Leneveu currently has a shutout going for Phoenix. It looks more and more like one of Phoenix's three goalies will be moved when Boucher returns. As for Chicago, they are in the market for some scoring help, after it has been announced that Ruutu will miss anywhere from 3-12 weeks with a back injury. Update : Rene Bourque scores his third of the season, tied at 1 now.

After two periods, Detroit leads St.Louis 3-1. Holmstrom has two goals, while Shanahan has another for Detroit. Sillinger has St.Louis' lone goal. Legace continues to remain on the sidelines with a knee injury. He should return this week, however, he will have to fight Osgood for the #1 spot.

Finally, after one period of play Minnesota leads Anaheim 2-0. Brian Rolston has a goal, as does the returning Miku Koivu. Fernandez is in net for the Wild.

Another trade to tell you about, as Andy Hilbert has been traded to Chicago. Boston will receive a 5th round pick in 2006 in return.

So I went to Habs game on Saturday night in Montreal, and I will tell you, the Montreal fans did not like my Leaf hat, flag and t-shirt (I didn't wear my jersey though, I held back a little). It was a very exciting game, and I really enjoyed it. If any of you have yet to see a game this season, get tickets now, as the new NHL is really fun to watch.

Thats all for now, expect new Power Rankings tomorrow, and a new Q & A should be up this week. If you are interested in working with us, or writing for us, please email me at cjohnson202@hockeyleaks.com. Enjoy the rest of your night!
