Hey everybody, it's everybody's favourite Hockey Leaks staff member, the Mighty Yick! Corey is out of town for the weekend, so Ryan and I will be filling in in the mean time.
Lots of crazy action last night that we didn't get to finish reporting on. The Colorado Avalanche held on against Anaheim to earn a 4-3 win. Colorado's Antti Laaksonen scored 2 goals as did Lupul from Anaheim.
Calgary came from behind in the third period to steal a win away from the Jackets, edging them 2-1. Marcus Nilson earned two points, one goal, one assist, during the comeback.
Finally, Phoenix shut out the LA Kings 4-0. Curtis Joseph had to stop only 21 shots from the supposedly hot Los Angeles offense, while Paul Mara picked up three points. Shane Doan and Mike Leclerc also stepped it up offensively, combining for four points.
Rick Nash has once again injured himself. He went down in last night's game against Calgary, injuring his left knee. Nash will miss Columbus' next game against Vancouver and it is not known when he is likely to return.
Hot Buffalo goalie Ryan Miller has officially been placed on the IR along with fellow teammate Toni Lydman. Martin Biron will likely replace Miller as the number one, despite his struggles during the 10-4 romp over the Sabres by the Senators.
In lighter news, Leafs' centre Mats Sundin has officially been cleared to play. He will make his return in tomorrow's game against the Tampa Bay Lightning. The Leafs have posted a 6-5-1 without Sundin in the lineup.
That's all for now, my friends. Catch you on the flip side!
