The Beast Of The NorthEast

Sure Ottawa has been sharp, but how about those Sabres. They beat Tampa 4-3 in a shootout tonight, improving their record to 4-1. Rookie Tomas Vanek led the way for the Sabres, recording two assists. Richards, Lecavalier and Prospal all scored their second goals of the season for the Lightning, who drop to 2-3.

Jagr scored, and Straka added two assists in the Rangers 4-1 win over the Devils. Gionta scored the only goal for the Devils, who are off to a 2-2 record. The Rangers are 2-1-2. The Islanders beat up on the Capitals, winning 5-3. DiPietro did leave the game in the third period, and his status is currently unknown. Zubrus had two assists for the Caps.

Boston finally played a solid game, beating the Panthers 5-2. The five goals against by the Panthers is more than they've allowed in their previous four games. Glen Murray had three points, and Bergeron and Samsonov each had a pair of assists. Horton and Kolnik scored for the Panthers, while Gary Roberts is still pointless through five games.

Time for the three games I played proline with. Game 1 : I picked Dallas over Calgary, and thats how it stands right now after two periods. The score is 2-1. Modano has two assists for Dallas, while Reinprecht has Calgary's only goal. Game 2 : I picked Nashville over Phoenix, and things are looking good. After one period, Nashville leads 2-1. Sullivan and Timmonen each have a goal and an assist for the Preds. Nedved has Phoenix's lone goal.

Game 3 : I picked Detroit over LA, and this game is just underway. Yzerman is in the lineup for the Red Wings. Both teams are 3-1 on the season.
