Leafs Trade Aki Berg!

Just kidding, that was probably the meanest thing I've ever done. The Leafs are apparently going after Brendan Witt again, though this is according to Code, who I feel is a joke. I laughed when I got an email from HockeyNations.com today, saying "Cjohnson202, Code will answer your questions in the free forum today". I would never pay to get in his insider program, and to be honest, I spent a total of 5 seconds reading his "free" Q & A today. I know a lot of you read his stuff, just remember to take everything you hear with a grain of salt. Who would the Leafs have to give up to get a Witt? Why not throw together something like Ian White and Aki Berg? Washington is one of the few NHL teams that could afford to take Berg's 1 million dollar salary.

Tonight's games were great! Calgary continued to struggle, loosing 6-3 to the Red Wings. Zetterberg led the way for Detroit with a goal and three assists. Jeremy Williams continued to play well, notching another two assists. Calgary's top scorer was Hamrlik, who had a goal and an assist.

Columbus got their first win of the season, beating Chicago 3-2. Jason Chimera had a nice debut, scoring the Blue Jacket's first goal of the night. Berard had a good game as well for the bugs, scoring a goal and adding a helper. Vorobiev continued his strong play in Chicago, scoring both Chicago goals, giving him four goals in three games. Marc Denis got the win for Columbus. Expect him to be Columbus' #1 goalie over LeClaire.

The final game of the night was in LA, where the Kings beat the Wild 2-1 in a shootout. Walz scored Minnesota's only goal, while Belanger and Demitra scored for the Kings. Manny Fernandez got his first start in goal of the season.

The Penguins made a surprise move today, by calling up goaltender Marc Andre Fleury. It was expected that they would not call the young goalie up, but they did, which now leaves me thinking he may start for the Penguins until Thibault gets back. Fleury is 2-0 in the AHL this season with a 1.00 GAA. The Pens would not have called him up if they were not going to let him play. If they play Caron over him, then they should send him back down, as this kid needs to be playing.

Thats all for now, hopefully we'll have the Fantasy Standings up sometime tomorrow. Email me at cjohnson202@hockeyleaks.com for any questions. Also, don't forget to check out hockeyleaks.com. New Power Rankings by Yick and ryan.c are up (I am doing my new rankings, fantasy page update and article all for Wednesday. Wednesday will likely be the day most of my updates go up). We also have a new scores ticker! It was asked for in the forums, and we're going to do our best to keep it updated! Enjoy your night, see everyone in the morning!
