Pens Win?

10 straight losses for Pittsburgh? Not this season, as Mario Lemieux scored five points, including two goals, to push the Pens past the Thrashers 7-5. Gonchar had two goals and an assist, Jackman had a goal and two assists, while Rechhi, Crosby, Palffy, and Leclair all had two points each. Kovalchuk had two goals and two assists in this game. The Thrashers had a 4-0 lead, but Shields struggled as the game went on. Caron gets the win for the Penguins.

Boston slid by the Leafs tonight, winning 2-1. Slegr and Samsonov scored for Boston, while Lindros scored for Toronto. Toivonen was the star of this game, making some key saves to keep Boston in the lead.

Jagr had two assists, as the Rangers beat the Islanders 3-1. Straka, Tyutin and Betts scored for the Rangers, while Campoli scored for the Islanders.

The Flyers scored three straight goals to beat the Panthers 5-4 in OT. Forsberg scored his first goal of the season, and added two assists. It was Pitkanen who scored the OT winner. Esche picks up the win.

Montreal led going into the third period, but couldn't hold on, as the Sens beat the Habs 4-3 in Overtime. Spezza scored the game winner, as well as adding an assist. Ryder led the Habs with three points, while Ribeiro had two goals. Emery gets the win for the Sens, as Hasek had the night off.

The Wings beat up the Blackhawks tonight, winning 5-2. Schneider had two goals, while Datsyuk added two assists.

Colorado currently leads Vancouver 6-2 in the third period. Brunette has three assists for the Avs, while Liles has two helpers as well. Cloutier was replaced by Auld in the second period, as Auld is looking to steal the #1 job in Vancouver.

Finally, Calgary and Phoenix are tied 0-0 after the first period. Curtis Joseph is looking for his 400th career win tonight, and I'm guessing he gets it. Sauve is in net for Calgary.

Player of the night? Well, two games are still in progress, but I feel safe announcing it now...: Super Mario, as he finally returns to form, and scores five points to give his team their first win? 9 game winning streak on the way from Pittsburgh? Not likely. Enjoy your night.
