Good News, Bad News For Phoenix

The Coyotes got a big win last night, beating the Flames 2-0. Curtis Joseph got his first shutout of the season, earning him the Hockeyleak's Player Of The Night award. Ricci and Devereaux scored for the Coyotes. The bad news for Phoenix is they have lost Denis Gauthier for at least a month with a broken pinky finger. The injury happened on the weekend. Phoenix plays Edmonton tonight.

The Islanders, Leafs, Canadiens and Penguins are all apparently interested in Witt. Tom Poti is apparently being shopped around. Rumour has the Bruins being seriously interested. I got an email asking about the rumour going around that Vancouver and Nashville are working on a trade that could involve some big names (names include Jovo, Bertuzzi, Walker and Vokoun). As far as I've found, there is no truth to this rumour at all. Steve Shields has signed a tryout contract with Atlanta's AHL affiliate and likely will be signed to an NHL deal soon.

Pierre Dagenais has been demoted to Montreal's fourth line. The Habs play Boston tonight, and my money is on Montreal. The Bruins will be without Thorton and Zhamnov tonight, both will sit out with injuries.

Thats all for now, check hockeyleaks.com for the latest. My email is cjohnson202@hockeyleaks.com, feel free to ask any questions or leave any comments.
