In reaction to Calgary starting the season 1-3, and struggling on defense, the Flames have signed veteran defenseman Brian Marchment. He could play as early as this weekend.
The NHL has signed a European TV deal, which is great news for all of our European readers. Starting almost immediately, European fans will be able to watch a couple of NHL games per week.

Jeff O'Neill is going to be a game time decision. I have checked several sources, some say he's in, others say he will be out until the weekend.
Ray Emery will start in net for Ottawa tonight. Richard Zednik, Pierre Dagenais and Mike Komisarek are all out tonight for Montreal.
