Injury News

First, just to re-cap last nights late games. Dallas beat Phoenix 3-2. Modano led the Stars with a goal and an assist, while Kolanos was the most offensive Coyote, notching two assists. Kolanos' name is popping up in a lot of trade talk lately, so maybe this will help his value.

In the other late game, the Oiler's finally lost a game, loosing 3-1 to the Kings. Labarbera continues to play strong in net for the Kings, who improve to 3-1 on the season. Horcoff continued to play well for the Oilers, getting another assist. Corvo, Brown and Belanger all scored for the Kings.

Lets get to some injury news. Thanks to a huge hit from Eric Lindros on Monday night, Mike Fisher will be out for at least a week. He suffered a mild shoulder strain. Mats Sundin will not need surgery, which means Sundin shouldn't be out as long as first though. Late October/Early November is when we will likely see #13 back for Toronto. Rookie Gilbert Brule will be out six weeks after he suffered a fractured sternum in only his second NHL game. The rumours are that he will be sent back to his junior club by Columbus, which would end his NHL season. Finally, some good news for Detroit fans, Steve Yzerman will be back in the lineup tomorrow night when they face the Kings. Both teams are 3-1 on the season.

The last note I have for you this morning is that Ilya Kovalchuk will make his season debut tonight against the Canadiens. Montreal is looking to rebound after loosing their first game of the season last night to the Senators.
