A Couple Of Firsts

Another great night in the NHL! I'm watching the Dallas vs. Phoenix game as I type this, but we'll get to it in a few minutes. I'm going to start in Toronto where the Leafs beat the Flyers 4-2. Mikeal Tellqvist got the win for the Leafs, who picked up their first win of the season (though thanks to two OT losses, they have 4 points). Kyle Wellwood scored his first NHL goal and Jeff O'Neill returned to the lineup, eventually scoring the game winner in the third. Lindros scored against his old team, and Tucker added his second goal of the season. Gagne and Knuble scored for the Flyers, who drop to 1-2 on the season. Allison, O'Neill and Gagne all had two point nights.

The Montreal Canadiens took their first loss of the season, getting beat 4-2 by the still undefeated Sens. Ray Emery picks up the win. Alfredsson led the way for the Sens, scoring two goals. Chara and Vermette had Ottawa's other goals, while Koivu and Begin answered for the Habs.

Another team who got their first win is St. Louis, who beat up on Chicago 4-1. McAmmond, McClement, Young and Drake scored for the Blues, while Arnason scored Chicago's only goal. Lalime gets his fist win as a member of the Blues. Dallas currently leads Phoenix 3-1 in the third. Modano is leading the way with a goal and an assist. Gautier has Phoenix's goal. Lenevue is in net for Phoenix, who has both Boucher and Joseph on the IR. Edmonton and LA is just underway, and has no score.

Expect full recaps of the two late games tomorrow morning. Also, be sure to check hockeyleaks.com tomorrow as my new power rankings, article and fantasy page will be up! A hot and cold list will be in the fantasy page, while my article will focus on who's been unlucky so far this season. Be sure to check that out tomorrow! Enjoy your night, and watch some hockey!
